James Okoro is a legendary tactician and warrior—once the most feared human combatant during the 3rd Rebellion War. He is the husband of Amara (lost her giving birth to Naomi during The Cleanse), father of Naomi, and grandfather of Shad. Son of Toma, the Black Flame worshipper matriarch of Zone 47 — the very lineage tie that may explain the unsolved mystery of how he ignites White Flash despite not being of Williams blood. Haunted by his failures—especially his inability to protect Naomi and her children during The Raids—James goes into exile, watching over Shad from the shadows. He eventually steps back into the light during The Trenches, saving Shad during the First DFM Raid and initiating the now-legendary Battle of Legacy between them.
