After Amara’s death in James’ arms, Naomi was raised in secret by James’ mother in The Trenches—hidden from Mech surveillance. As she grew, she became a pillar of calm inside the Red Sanctum, later falling in love with Malcolm Williams, a rebellious ex-boxer turned resistance leader. Together they had four children: Aaliyah, Tiana, Caleb, and Shad—the future hero of The Trenches. During The Raids, Naomi sacrificed herself protecting her children, ensuring Shad’s escape and giving Kael a final cryptic device: “Amara & Samara – Experiment 12.”
