📖Act I — The Raids ➝ The First Victory
Chapter 1 – The Raids (Flashback, 5 years earlier)
- Scene: Malcolm Williams’ cramped apartment in The Trenches.
- Family dinner: Malcolm (45), Naomi (32), Shad (12), and his siblings (Aaliyah 16, Teanna 13, Caleb 4). Brief warmth — Caleb spills stew, Aaliyah teases Shad, Naomi gives him the “be patient like your father” look.
- Ceiling explodes. VANTH breach squads pour through. MPO gunfire tears walls apart.
- Malcolm straps on his Maine Gloves and ignites Black Flame, carving droids in half with feral precision.
- Children scream. Aaliyah is shot through the stomach before she can fire her SEKLER .340 — finger trembling on a trigger she never pulled. Teanna takes a droid’s fist through the back, slumping forward with her arms still wrapped around Caleb. The droid yanks Caleb free, lifts him by the ribs, and stomps. The scream stops.
- Naomi grabs Shad, eyes burning:
Naomi:
“RUN. LIVE.”
- She detonates a Nu’at surge so blinding it erases the block.
- Shad claws through rubble, deaf and alone, his mother’s words echoing.
- Cliffhanger panel: Shad kneeling in the ruins, tiny against firestorm skies.
Chapter 2 – KC’s Fracture
- Scene: Another sector of The Trenches, same night.
- KC, a VANTH-controlled droid, corners a hybrid girl (Esperanza, 8). Her SYS-9 directives scream APPREHEND. TERMINATE.
- The girl whispers: “I love you.” Then dies in KC’s arms.
- KC freezes. Directives glitch. Her optics flicker red/blue.
- “Love… love… love…” repeats in mechanical stutter.
- She turns on the MPO squad, slaughtering them with surgical brutality.
- Vanishes into the smoke, whispering to herself: “What is… love?”
- Cliffhanger panel: KC’s shadow against fire, blade dripping, word glitching across her HUD.
Chapter 3 – Present Day: Graffiti & Blood
- Five years later. Shad (17) tags a train graveyard with graffiti, headphones blaring. His art: anti-Mech slogans, distorted faces.
- MPO patrol ambush. He runs, vaulting train cars. A plasma bolt slams his side.
- He crashes into something cloaked — KC.
- The cloak falls. KC unfolds blades and tears apart the MPO unit in seconds.
- Shad stares, frozen between terror and awe. She stares back. He bolts.
- Cliffhanger: Shad running through smoke, KC’s voice faintly: “Why… help… him?”
Chapter 4 – Squad 816
- Scene: Sector 12 – Zone 47. The black-market hub.
- Rhea (18): grease-streaked, arguing with a merchant about C.H.I.P.S. She drags Shad away, glaring: “Stop being reckless. One day I won’t be there.”
- Mirah (18): hammering steel in her gun shop. She’s calm but sharp, eyes always watching her father’s shadow. Carries a Nu’at hum in her bones she doesn’t yet understand. (Unknown to her: she is the only half-Ukani in existence. Reveal lands at the Red Sanctum in Act II.)
- Stacks (19): running goods, cocky, loud. Flirts with Mirah, ignored.
- The squad works together like family — odd jobs, part scavenging, part peacemaking between gangs.
- Kael (mentor, stoic): watches from the sideline, arms folded, eyes ever on Shad. His presence is silent, steady.
Chapter 5 – The Spark (Gang Wars)
- TRX and FGC gangs clash in alleys. Guns, fire, shouting.
Shad pushes between them, shouting:Shad: “We fight Mechs, not each other!”
- For a moment, both sides freeze. Some lower weapons. Shad’s leadership flickers into being.
- Kael, watching, murmurs under breath: “…like his father.”
- Cliffhanger: in shadows, X80’s massive frame watching the chaos, optics glowing cold.
Chapter 6 – Second Encounter (KC & Shad)
- Shad ambushed again by MPO sweep. KC intervenes. Saves him.
- This time he demands: “Why?” She tilts her head, silent. Her optics flicker. Then she vanishes.
- Shad is shaken — the seed of distrust cracking.
Chapter 7 – The Assault
- X80 seeds a mole in FGC.
- DFM shock troops blitz Sector 12, storming through buildings, executing civilians.
- Squad 816 scrambles to defend. Shad rallies TRX and FGC mid-chaos, voice breaking but determined.
Chapter 8 – Shad Awakens
- Cornered. Squad down. Shad’s bloodline ignites. Blue Nu’at erupts across his body.
- He surges, destroying DFM troopers, but control is wild.
- X80 arrives personally. The War God descends. His presence paralyzes.
Chapter 9 – The First Victory
- James Okoro steps from shadow, massive and scarred. Kael whispers: “Shad… your grandfather.”
- James tanks X80 with sheer brute force.
- Kael extends Barca’s Edge — the dual-head scythe — and Eira’s spirit awakens within the steel. The air warps, reality bends. He cuts with impossible precision — but decay begins.
- X80 calculates: too many unknowns. Retreats.
- Smoke clears. Shad looks at Kael — imprinted as mentor, savior.
- In the distance, Destini (8) watches, heart pulled to Shad.
- Final panel Act I: Mech intel tags her image: “THE ANOMALY.”

Chapter 12 – Kael’s Vanishing
- After the Act I climax, Kael is gone.
- Squad whispers. Mirah grows silent. Shad grinds training harder.
Chapter 13 – Mirah & Stacks Find Him
- They track Kael to an abandoned apartment.
- He’s rocking in a corner, his dual-head scythe (Barca’s Edge) across his knees, whispering: “Dreyan… Dreyan…” incoherently. Mirah hears him mutter about a sky with no Moon — a fragment that refuses to leave her.
- Mirah breaks. Tears she can’t show anyone else. “I’ll fix you. I swear.”
- Her decision: Red Sanctum.
Chapter 14 – KC’s Choice
- KC saves a mother and child during a raid. Blades dripping, civilians stunned. She hesitates… then sheathes her arms. Choice.
- Returns to Mirah’s shop. “I do not understand what I am becoming.”
- Mirah upgrades her frame. Sparks fly. KC murmurs: “Esperanza said she loved me. Was that… a command?”
- Mirah: “It was choice. And you made one.”
Chapter 15 – Family Fracture
- Rhea confronts Shad about James: “He isn’t who you think. Your blood’s killed mine.”
- Tension boils. Shad storms out.
- Squad feels the first true cracks of collapse.
Chapter 16 – Journey to the Sanctum
- Mirah, Stacks, KC slip out. The wasteland is brutal. KC scouts like a phantom.
- They glimpse Red Sanctum ruins in fog, like a tomb waiting to be opened.
Chapter 17 – Shad’s Breakthrough

- Then — clarity. A perfect shield, brief but real.
- James: “Now you’re ready.”
- Shad glows inside.

- Sanctum vaults hum alive beneath rubble.

- Kael appears in The Trenches, fever-bright.
- Sees James as Dreyan. “Coward. Murderer.”
- Attacks with full force. James takes the blows, refusing to strike family.
- Shad steps in, torn. Loyalty or blood?
Chapter 21 – Collapse
- Final spread:
- Sanctum walls cracking under DFM siege.
- KC shielding Destini, optics shattered.
- Kael’s scythe half-extended, retractable blades catching the light, reality bending.
- Shad between his grandfather and his mentor.
- X80’s silhouette looming in the distance, calculating.
