Lieutenants include Akeem Young (Keem’s father). The final base of the resistance before The Raids. Where Kael awoke, Destini’s ancestry was first logged, and Mirah began her path as a weaponsmith. Betrayed by TXG operatives — reduced to ashes during R.A.I.D.S. (2885 AD). Its surviving ideology was later twisted and corporatized into the UCC.

  • Description: Five genetically engineered women built from Dreyan’s DNA, raised by the UCC to enforce its doctrine. Genetically the sisters of Lord Saint. Awakened by Destini’s voice. Defected. Now lead the next galactic revolution.

🕊️ Cult of the Last Flame

  • Description: A secret cult that preserves the story of Destini, Nu’at, and the Akili. Keeps truth alive in shadow. Spread across colonies in whispers.

🏚️ The Remnant — Inner Earth Survivors of Zone 47

  • Era: Cross-era (post-Mythic through Trenches present)
  • Territory: Tunnel systems beneath Zone 47, clustered around the dormant Temple Grid node
  • Power Source: Residual Nu’at from the Temple Grid node; Null-enhanced ritual practice
  • Rivals: Theoretically VANTH — practically invisible to them
  • Description: Beneath Zone 47 — through maintenance tunnels the Mech Government sealed and labeled biohazard zones after equipment repeatedly malfunctioned inside them — lives a small underground community. Not Ukani. Not hybrids. Humans: descendants of the original survivors of the First Pulse who retreated underground thousands of years ago and never came back up. They have lived in proximity to the Zone 47 Temple Grid node for longer than any surface civilization has existed in its current form. They watched Ukan fall, humanity rebuild, the Mech Government rise, The Cleanse, and The Raids — through Nu’at perception from the node and occasional strictly controlled surface contact. They know the full geography of all 12 Temple Grid node locations globally. They preserve Tet oral tradition in its complete, unbroken form — Toma’s Zone 47 community was a surface offshoot of their teaching. They know the location of Nu’at Crystal caches at several Temple Grid sites. They have known Destini’s identity since her birth through node perception. They have been waiting for a carrier of Grand Resonant Energy to make physical contact with the Zone 47 node — that contact will begin reactivating the planetary grid. They have been watching Shad. Keel is aware of them. Shad is not yet. Destini has always known they were there.

📡 The Cosmic Mic — The Pulse Echo Broadcaster

  • Rivals: VANTH / NOXIN (The Silencer)
  • Description: An anonymous broadcaster operating on Zone 47’s black-channel Pulse Echo comms network who is piecing together the hidden history of the world — not through Nu’at visions, but through data. Old Mech archives. Red Sanctum fragments. Angus N’Shoba’s journals circulated in partial copies underground. Cross-referenced anomalies in VANTH public records that don’t align when read carefully. They know the official history of the Mech Government’s founding contains internal contradictions suggesting deliberate rewriting. They know The Cleanse was a response to a specific individual, not a general hybrid threat. They know Zone 47 produces a statistically impossible rate of emotional anomalies SYS-9 cannot classify. They know someone inside VANTH research has been degrading SYS-9 suppression performance in Zone 47 for over twenty years. What they don’t know yet: Destini exists. Kael exists. What Nu’at is. NOXIN — The Silencer — has made locating the Cosmic Mic their highest-priority non-hybrid intelligence target in Zone 47. Seventeen individuals have been arrested and executed as suspected Cosmic Mics. None were the right person. The broadcasts continue. Shad’s crew listens. The broadcaster is working toward the same truth from a completely different direction.

👽 The Pearlescents (also called Aguptos / “Angels” — the ancient telepathic species who named the Zakai “Kaimyga”)

  • Territory: A buried Megaship in Earth’s abyssal trench
  • Power Source: Ancient Pearlescent resonance
  • Rivals: The Zakai
  • Description: Two surviving Pearlescent beings, also called Aguptos or “Angels,” found by PD001 inside the buried Megaship. They awakened him into full sentience as PONDO and warned him of the Zakai (whom they call the Kaimyga), commanding him to protect humanity from the universe, the Zakai, and themselves. Per canon-lock: never fully visually depicted.

🦅 HORAS / The Crows (Hybrid Nomad Faction)

  • Era: Affect Age → R.A.I.D.S.
  • Territory: Desert wastelands (Ukanian Desert)
  • Power Source: Hybrid Fusion / VSN
  • Rivals: VANTH, Mech Government
  • Description: Founded by Samara and Akeem Young (Red Sanctum lieutenant) after they escaped The Cleanse. A secret hybrid nomad faction that gave refuge to surviving Hybrids. Samara dies during R.A.I.D.S. defending their son Keem. Additional canon: HORAS communities cultivate Null — a plant compound that temporarily dissolves SYS-9’s emotional suppression field, allowing users to perceive Nu’at imprints in the ambient field. Null grows exclusively in the Ukanian Desert. HORAS descendants have cultivated it for generations without fully understanding its metaphysical function. It circulates through Zone 47’s black market as the most controlled and most sought substance in The Trenches.

⚔️ Dark Lord Saint’s Faction

  • Era: Daughters of Tiye (3392 AD)
  • Territory: The Outer Fringe (post-defection)
  • Power Source: Cyber-Aether + corrupted Akili / Wyrm bloodline
  • Rivals: UCC, Daughters of Tiye, Mech Remnants
  • Description: Founded by Dark Lord Saint — son of Dreyan (the Akili Betrayer) and a High Wyrm Female who fled with him after Ukan’s fall. Lord Saint serves as a UCC General until he uncovers the truth, defects, and is consumed by hatred for the Daughters (his genetic sisters via Dreyan’s DNA). His arc climaxes when he launches the Second Chicxulub Impactor — a deliberate echo of his ancestor Val’Khan’s strike, which the humans of his era come to know simply as “the Chicxulub Impactor.”
